

Its name has been given from the french Dieduonné Dolomieu. It is a massive rock-forming mineral, also occurs in Hungary in more locations among others in Buda Hills, Bakony and Bükk. The most dolomite issues during the metasomatism of limestones, but primarily in sedimentary rocks and hydrothermal ore veins. It can be distinguished from the limestone, it doesn’t fizz under the effect of cold hydrochloric acid.
