

As we can see it is named after Brazil, where it was first identified in 1944. It can be found in phosphate rich granite pegmatites, usually together with muscovite mica, but often with quartz and albite. Its largest location is in Brazil, Minas Gerais /Espirito Santo, where 15 cm long, good quality crystals were found, but also issues in the USA (New Hampshire, Maine), Canada (Yukon Creek), Argentina, Ruanda, Australia and France.
